Sim graduated with a degree in Architecture from the University of East London and has worked in architecture firms in China and the UK, gaining valuable experience in the field. His expertise lies in Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Visual Programming, where he is recognized for his dedication and skills.
Ever since Sim began learning visual programming for design, he has been deeply engaged in mastering these tools. He not only became proficient but also shared his knowledge through teaching sessions at work and a YouTube channel.
Sim is passionate about advocating for the use of software tools in architectural design. He shares his insights through articles on LinkedIn, highlighting the capabilities these tools offer for innovation in architecture.

MITx: Sustainable Building Design
Online Study Program – 75%
I completed an online course offered MITx on sustainable architecture design principles. I completed the course with a passing grade of 75% and learnt a lot of about how the science of building design is improving the built environment.
18-19 Colliergate
Lead Architectural Technologist
Whilst working for PB Architecture, I was the lead Architectural Technologist on a project to convert the Grade II* Listed building on 18-19 Colliergate in York into two new residential properties. It was Granted Planning Permission in late 2024.
Durham University Collingwood College Music Rooms
Lead Architectural Technologist
I commenced engagement with this project subsequent to its planning approval. My role predominantly encompassed the intricate technical realization of the building’s complex structural form. I meticulously manipulated the Revit model to translate it into a viable construction, meticulously crafting comprehensive tender and construction pack drawings for implementation. It won project of the year at GSS Oscars. Link
The Inn Collection Various Projects
Principle Architectural Technologist
During my tenure at GSS Architecture in Harrogate, I actively contributed to several projects for The Inn Collection. My responsibilities included meticulously crafting models of existing structures, which frequently involved intricate amalgamations of historical buildings spanning diverse ages. Additionally, I played a pivotal role in the production of comprehensive Tender pack drawings for these projects.
IQ Student Village Newcastle
Architectural Technologist
Whilst working for GSS Architecture, I played an integral role in a substantial multimillion-pound project for iQ student residences. I significantly contributed to the development of Building Information Modeling (BIM) models, conducted comprehensive report compilation, and crafted impactful visualizations.
